Winter to Spring

The mists of spring
hang on winter’s horizon,
and we stand on that horizon,
bidding farewell
to the fading gray.
The sun fills the air
and the water;
the animals come to life,
and swim in the sun.
The humans come out
from their hibernation,
strolling and greeting
and flowing along.
